Shielded Enclosures
1 day.
Unclassified
Location: Northern Virginia
At first glance, building an electromagnetically shielded room
appears to be a straightforward construction project, but it is far
from that. You can easily get a solid, good-looking room that is
full of invisible electronic leaks. Those leaks can take a long time
to find and fix.
OBJECTIVE
This course covers the technical and contractual pitfalls involved
in managing the construction of a shielded enclosure. It provides
practical advice on ways to avoid these pitfalls, and obtain a
good, long lasting room built quickly at a reasonable cost. The
point of the course is that a shielded room may seem like a small
CONSTRUCTION job, but it is actually a large ELECTRONIC
ASSEMBLY job. Students will possess the knowledge necessary
to make rational and intelligent management decisions regarding
the design, contracting, construction, testing and maintenance
of electromagnetically shielded enclosures.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is technical in nature, but extensive engineering
education or experience is not required. Anyone in government or
industry whose responsibilities involve the installation or
management of shielded enclosures can benefit.
If you are about to buy a shielded room, this course will save you many times it's cost.
